Point Mugu Sea Range, located off the coast of southern California, is the Navy's center of electronic warfare expertise. San Nicolas Island is part of the 36,000-square-miles of instrumented air and sea space that allows for operational and developmental testing and evaluation of guided missiles and free fall weapons, as well as electronic warfare systems.

The Point Mugu Sea Range is managed by the Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division. It is also the Department of the Navy’s center of electronic warfare expertise. It offers logistical support and in-service support to guided missiles, free fall weapons, targets, support equipment and electronic warfare technology.
NAWCWD oversees over 1.1 million acres and multiple weapons-development laboratories at Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake. This is 150 miles north Los Angeles. It also maintains a 36,000 square-mile sea range at Point Mugu and an extensive test range on San Nicolas Island off the West Coast, both of which are located off southern California's coast.
NAS Point Mugu (and the nearby Naval Construction Battalion Center Port Hueneme) were combined administratively to form Naval Base Ventura County. The installation houses the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, and three warfare centers. It also has 80 tenants.

Your binoculars will allow you to see from the sky the aerial acrobatics performed by the Air Show performers. You can also take your binoculars with you to see the stunning coastline and hiking trails located just outside of the base.
