The drone can be outfitted with many electronic upgrades. These upgrades can include an aerodynamic package which can improve fuel efficiency.
A SATCOM receiver is also available on the UAV, which allows a ground station or other device to communicate with it. This is particularly useful for long-range operations. It also features a machine-vision system that can aid the drone in autonomous navigation.
The drone was also built to withstand extreme environments. According to the company, the drone can operate under sound and at speeds of up to 500 miles per hour. It can also operate in places without infrastructure.
According to JetQuad VTOL drones, they can hover in precise places. It can withstand severe weather unlike other drones. It is capable of operating on rough terrain even if the electrical grid is absent. The JetQuad comes in a variety of options, from a basic model that costs $85,000 to an aerodynamic upgrade at $44,000.
Kratos also introduced the XQ-222, a drone type. This UAV is designed from a clean sheet design and was recently commissioned by the Air Force Research Lab. This aircraft can be modified to transport a variety of payloads and is designed to fly in areas that lack an electrical grid.
In December, the company won a $50.9 million contract from the U.S. Navy. Kratos was also awarded a $4.1million order from an overseas customer. While it hasn't provided any details about the contract, the company did say it would take a year to 18 months to fulfill the orders.
Kratos has also developed the XQ-58A Valkyrie and the XQ-58A Mako, both of which are designed for manned-uncrewed teaming operations. It has been the premier supplier of jet powered, high-performance unmanned aerial drones.
Apart from its jet-powered drones mentioned above, the company also has a drone designed for indoor play. It features an internal weapon bay and a low RCS which makes it less sensitive to vibrations and noise.
Kratos Uncrewed Systems Division produces a number high-performance tactical aircraft drones for the U.S. Air Force as well as other military customers. In addition, the company boasts 150 drones produced annually by its active production lines.
