Regardless of your interest in the military, the Arab Spring is something you've heard of. The Arab Spring saw a successful revolution in Tunisia and a civil conflict in Syria. It is common to find a study in your local library on the subject. This is especially true in the case of those working in the health-care industry.
A study done in Northern Tunisia (which is much like the USA) shows how the number of suicides and homicides has changed since the revolution. The study found that the average number of homicides in Northern Tunisia was 1.8% per 100,000 people each year. However, this number has risen to 3.12 per 100,000 people every year since the revolution. Also, suicides rose by 1.7 percent after the revolution. This is a statistically significant change and is concerning not only for the government, it is also concerning for the country’s youth. Because both causes of death are increasing, the nation's healthcare will have to adapt.
