Computer hardware and computer software

Computer hardware, software and other components were designed for military applications. This allows them to be integrated into various tools that improve their performance. Specialized computers feature encryption chips and secret components that are not accessible to the general public. These were the first military computers. They were mechanical analogue machines that were used in gunnery central processing units. Many of these computers today are integrated into tools.

Enterprise systems, on the other hand, are large-scale computer systems that manage a variety of users and interface with many other systems. These systems are typically operated at the DoD level. They should be reliable, expandable, interoperable, and extensible. They can be either developed in-house, or purchased commercially. Enterprise systems can be anything from financial and human resources databases to software development environments.

Vehicles resistant to explosives

Explosive-resistant military vehicles are vehicles designed to resist IED attacks and ambushes. They were developed as a response to the increased threat from IEDs during the Iraq War. These vehicles are currently being used in Iraq and Afghanistan. The military currently has three types of MRAPs: heavy, lightweight, and fully-armored.

The LVTP-7 was originally the first MRAP. Later, it was redesigned as AAVP7A1 (Advanced Armor-Resistant Vehicle). It is an assault vehicle with a strong reputation and serves as an important platform to support the U.S. Marine Corps amphibious force. It can carry up-25 combat-ready Marines over water and can travel at 45 MPH on land.

Robotics

The demand for military robots has increased as wars continue to rage around the globe. Countries like India, China, and the US have made huge investments in developing military robots. DARPA, which is a government agency that works on robotic technology, is constantly looking for ways to improve military robots.

Robots have many more advantages than human soldiers. Robots can be used to do boring or dangerous tasks that are not possible for soldiers. They can be programmed in basic decision making, navigation, and survival in battle zones that contain chemical weapons. They can also work in areas with high gravity and dirty conditions.

Robotics in warfare

Today's technologically advanced military is looking into the possibility of using armed robots as a means to aid in war. Gatling guns can be found on many warships within the alliance. These guns can fire at incoming missiles automatically. Israel currently has machine gun turrets deployed along its Gaza border.

The deployment of autonomous robots brings new ethical issues into the discussion. Noel Sharkey from Sheffield University argues that autonomous robots can't distinguish between civilians and combatants. In addition, the proportionality principle says that robots should never kill civilians for military advantage.

High-tech weapons

The world's most technologically advanced military is looking to the future for new weapons. Due to global conflicts and other hot spots, military R&D is increasing. The United States is expected to spend $80billion this year on R&D, an increase of 5% over the previous year. 2017 plans call for more spending. The next generation of weapons is being developed by small tech start-ups as well as defense contractors. They are not only trying to surprise war tech geeks but also to help the military win.

Some weapons are still in their prototype stages. However, the U.S. develops weapons with 1,000-mile distances and shore to-shore missiles. Some weapons are already in action, while others remain in development.
