Scott Joplin
Scott Joplin is most well-known for his piano rag, "Maple Leaf Rag." The rag was printed in St. Louis and Sedalia, Missouri, and became the first piano rag to sell a million copies. It is unknown when exactly this success occurred, but it was a significant milestone in the musical career. The cover of the rag featured vaudeville stars and was based upon a tobacco advert sketch. The cover changed to the Maple Leaf in the early 1900s. Joplin was featured on the rag's lower right-hand page.

Chuck Berry
Chuck Berry is a well-known singer and songwriter. His work combines narrative country, folk tradition, and jump jazz. He was a Billboard top-charter-topper in 1950s and made it onto the cover of the "Biggest Show of Stars", 1957.
Miles Davis
Miles Davis at Indeed St Louis, a memoir, explores the life of the great jazz trumpeter. While there aren't many details about his musical thoughts, it is filled full of stories and anecdotes on other musicians. The story of Bud Powell, the genius pianist, is told by the trumpeter. It also details Davis's heroin addiction during the 1950s and his five year isolation.
Scott Joplin’s ragtime
Scott Joplin is closely linked to the promotion and origin of ragtime music. In 1976, the National Historic Landmark designation was granted to his house by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. It is now the state's first state historic site dedicated to African American heritage. The ragtime site is filled with exhibits depicting the history of the site and its neighborhood. Visitors can also hear ragtime piano rolls on a working player piano. The home's furnishings are in the same style as Joplin's early St. Louis days, and include gas lights and calcimine-painted walls.
Scott Joplin's jazz
Scott Joplin is a legend within American music. Scott Joplin wrote many of the most iconic jazz rags, including "The Entertainer", which he published in 1903. The Entertainer was an example of Joplin's flowing, lyrical genius. This style was very difficult for pianists of that era. Joplin was also well known for his gentle songs, called rags. The "Rose Leaf Rag", "The Chrysanthemum Rag", "The Rose Leaf Rag", and other rags were his favorites.
