The Polish Tank PL 01

dying light 2 military tech uses

The PL-01 is an advanced tank developed by OBRUM and BAE Systems. It was unveiled for the first times in 2013. It is based on a medium-sized Swedish CV90120 T tank. It comes with a primary weapon of either a 120mm or 105mm cannon inside its unmanned Turret.

Adaptiv Technology

According to reports, the new Polish tank pl 01 can "cloak" its radar and heat signatures to fool enemy sensors. This is similar to what Boeing used for Bird Of Prey. The vehicle's entire body is covered with radio-absorbing materials, and equipped with an exhaust cooling unit. Both are designed to make it more difficult to detect.

Invisible Armor

It is believed to have armor that absorbs incoming radiation so well that it can be invisible to enemy radars. It is also said to be able to regulate the temperature of its armored surfaces and fool thermal sensors.

Adaptiv technology is a big deal in modern tanks, as it's a much more effective way to conceal a vehicle than traditional radar-reflecting coatings. The Adaptiv technology employs hexagonal Peltier plates that absorb or reflect light to make the tank almost invisible in poor weather or at night.

It is also said to be able to fool visual and infra-red sensor. The Adaptiv technology is thought to be able lower the radar and heat signatures for the PL-01. However, it is unclear how or what this will do to the vehicle overall.

Polish Army

The Polish army currently owns around 900 main-battle tanks. The most common are the PT-91 Twardys, and Leopard 2s. The PL-01 modern tank is an attractive option that will prove to be a significant vehicle for the Polish Army in the near future.

This tank is designed as a support vehicle for direct fire and has a crew of three. It is well-suited to working in tight areas, such urban combat zones. It can be equipped with either a smoothbore 105mm or 120mm smoothbore rifle that is capable of firing both anti-tank guided and conventional rounds. It can store 29 rounds in its autoloader, and 16 more rounds in the turret.

The other armament include a 7.62mm machine gun, remote-controlled weapon station, and a 40mm automated grenade launcher.

The PL-01 is a modern, prototype direct-fire support tank that is being developed by Obrum with technical support from British conglomerate BAE Systems. It is a 7 meter long, 3.8 meter wide and 2.8 meter high vehicle with a standard weight of 30 tons and can increase to 35 tons with additional armor panels.

Interior

The PL-01's interior was designed to be convenient and comfortable for the crew. It has a "crewmembers' safety capsule" in the chassis, multilayer clay-aramid armor and modern crew seats to reduce the impact of IED blasts. The hull is protected by STANAG 4569 level 4a and 4b. It also has an antimine coating on all sides.
