Super soldiers, either in fiction or real-life, are highly skilled soldiers with technologically superior capabilities who can accomplish things that ordinary soldiers cannot. The typical super soldier is enhanced with genetics, cybernetics augmentation, surgical methods and black magic. These superheroes have super strength, heightened sensitivity to psychic signals, enhanced mobility, and other capabilities. These soldiers are often controlled with extreme training. They often face other, more evil, counterparts.
There have been numerous attempts to make super soldiers in the real-world. The Soviet Union attempted to create a super soldier. Through the X-23 Program, they attempted to create a super-assassin. However, their experiment was a bust. The experiment failed when they tried to attach Vision bits to the bodies of human subjects. Later, they locked their attempts.
The United States also looks into the possibility for super soldiers. The Department of Defense has placed a high priority on off-the shelf components and technology. These offer huge cost savings and quick delivery. These technologies were developed by companies outside the military, and the Pentagon has made it a priority to use them. The DoD even offered a bounty to anyone who could develop a super soldier.

Porton Down, the UK's notorious for its unorthodox human experimentation, is also infamous. The UK has also developed a team of spec-ops superhumans, which is often referred to as The Order. These men are recruited through torture or augments. The Order has a 1-year contract.
The US Army is also looking into developing super soldiers. While many studies have been done on super soldier technology, it is not clear if the Army will actually use them in its fights against Soviet Union.
Scientists have discovered genes that could be used to duplicate the effects of super soldier technology. The US Army does not have any evidence. These genes are known to increase the blood's oxygen carrying capacity, and can be activated by certain techniques.
The "Power Nullifier", a technology that transforms genetically disabled people into unkillable infantrymen is the most impressive. It's not a scam, and it's a very serious endeavor. This also means that they are genetically locked which stops them from evolving. This also means that they will never grow old.

Strader Pharmaceuticals' serum gives super strength, another example of "mood" that showcases off-the–shelf technology. Although the serum is a scam, it can also cause anger, paranoia and body degeneration. The mysterious benefactor behind this scam promises Mal a large amount of money to help him find information on super soldiers.
The Hive Mind psychic weapon is another gimmick. This is a hypothetical psychic tool that was created by the United States Defense Department. They haven't yet come up with any practical applications. The Disposable Superhero Maker on the other hand isn’t real.
